As I promised (although much further into the future than I had hoped), I am back with some more pictures, dinner plans and finally some video (albeit just some short clips).
Enjoy!

So for those of you who don’t know, me and my family have just finished settling into our new home. It’s been a long process but worth the blood, sweat and beers needed to go get through to the other side (yes I said beers).
So to celebrate that as well as the 4th of July weekend, we had some friends over and test out our latest purchase, my second girlfriend, also known as the grill…

She’s a gas/charcoal combo with a spot for a smoker box on the charcoal side (yet to be purchased) and I wanted to put her through the test and load her up with meaty goodness, let’s just say she passed with flying colors!!!

I told everyone who came just to bring some booze, a side and their happy asses but as I suspected that would not be acceptable to one of my brothers in culinary backyard-grillery. He decided he wanted to get two fat arse rib eyes and brine them overnight, sear them, then let them cook in a cast iron for a while…cut them up and the make god damn cheese steaks with them! At first I was slightly dumbfounded, even a bit concerned with his sanity but after the finished product (for which I most certainly and from the depths of me apologize for which I do not have the photographic evidence of) I was put at ease.

Brined and ready to go!

Cant forget bout the fixins’

Sittin’ pretty!

Getting ready for that full char!

(insert drool emoji here)
Since it was the Birthday Weekend of ‘Merica and all I did the only thing I thought was right…
I myself decided it was about damn time I made some Rib and Chicken!
So I made a glaze, rubbed them sum bitches up and let them sit for about 12-14 hours!
Made the rub for the ribs with: tabasco salt, chilli powder, peprika, garlic salt and some brown sugar base…then just to top it off with some sweetness I added some honey as well!
The Chicken was made with some Makers Mark BBQ sauce as the base and then added some similar heat without the sweet.
